In addition, we continue to actively take on the challenge of reducing environmental impact through the introduction of energy-saving equipment and ICT, and are striving to achieve our ambitious goals.
Medium-term Plan for Reducing Energy Consumption Volume
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) assesses the energy efficiency of businesses, categorizing them into one of four ranks: S, A, B, or C. In FY2017 and 2018, the TORIDOLL Group received the highest S-rank for two years in a row. This was a result of achieving the goal outlined in the Act on the Rational Use of Energy, urging reductions of 1% or more in per unit energy consumption over the past five years.
In addition, compared to fiscal 2013, which was the peak of the last 10 years, the reduction was about 31.3% in fiscal 2020. Going forward, we will continue to make steady progress toward achieving our goals.
Reducing Energy Consumption Volume: Results
At TORIDOLL Group, we have achieved outstanding success in reducing energy consumption volume since FY2013.
Compared to FY2013, we managed to reduce our per unit energy consumption by 25% in FY2020.

Introduction of energy-saving pots at approximately 250 Marugame Seimen stores
Marugame Seimen has introduced energy-saving boiling pots developed in 2019 to about 250 stores to date (as of December 2022).
This energy-saving boiling pot can reduce electricity usage by about 20%, as well as water usage (water supply) by about 30%, as measured by store operations. In addition, it is possible to optimize the output and the amount of hot water to be added by digitizing and automatically controlling the boiling and salt concentration adjustment, etc., which traditionally relied on the experience of employees. received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award, the highest award.

ZEB certified store
The Toridoll Group is working on the development of ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) stores that use natural energy sources such as solar power generation to reduce the balance of energy consumption in buildings to zero. While there are very few examples of ZEB stores in the restaurant industry, we are working with our business partners to address various issues and seek solutions one by one.
Introduction of renewable energy
As a model store for the introduction of renewable energy, the Toridoll Group has installed approximately 13 kilowatts of solar power generation panels on the roof of the Marugame Seimen Omiya Nishi store to cover the electricity consumed by the store.
Renewable energy has also been introduced by Tokyu Land Corporation at Shibuya Solasta, the headquarters office.

Using LED lights at MARUGAME SEIMEN restaurants
The TORIDOLL Group is gradually switching to LED lighting at Marugame Seimen stores that have a long life, do not contain mercury, and can reduce CO2emissions. As a result, we are increasing the illuminance inside the store so that customers can spend their time more comfortably, reducing environmental impact and helping customers comfort.
